The organizations below offer zero cost, evidence-based information and tools for becoming your best self. Their missions align with our own - to help you become your best self and to make the world a better place.  They are presented alphabetically.

The mission of the Arithmetic of Compassion is to raise awareness of the congitive biases that create psychological obstacles to compassion. These biases lead to inaction in the face of some of the world’s largest humanitarian challenges, including genocide, famine, and climate change. 

Clearer Thinking is an organization that disseminates insights from research about human behavior and offers practical help for people to act more rationally in the real world. They have created many  interactive tools and mini-courses that you can use to change your habits, make better decisions, and achieve your goals.

Common Cause is a non-profit that champions the human values that underpin our care for one another and for our world.  They help to design projects that strengthen the cooperative and caring parts of human nature to build ways of living that are equitable and just, for people and the planet.

The Greater Good Science Center is at the University of California Berkeley.  They study the psychology, sociology, and neuroscience of well-being, and teach skills that foster a thriving, resilient, and compassionate society. They offer a magazine, videos, podcasts, articles and many tools to foster well-being. 

The Heroic Imagination Project (HIP) was founded by eminent psychologist Dr. Philip Zimbardo. Its core value is that every person is capable of heroic action. HIP draws on research in psychology to offer people the knowledge and strategies to choose heroism during challenging moments.

Kindlab investigates the causes and consequences of kindness drawing on research from the social, behavioral, and life sciences. In addition to sharing their knowledge with the world, their research is the basis of real-world products and programs that are free to users.

The following organizations offer news from a positive perspective.  If your faith in humanity is waning, vist one of these sites to remind yourself how much caring there is in the world. They are presented alphabetically.

Good Good Good shares articles to help you find the good in the world.  Some articles focus on practical ways you can make a difference to the problems of the world - big and small. 

The Good News Network wants to provide an antidote to the negativity of mainstream media. You can go to the GNN for happy news and your daily dose of hope.

The Optimist Daily is a solutions-based news project.  In addition to daily news, you can search for solutions to problems in the world that interest you.  

Positive News reports socially relevant and uplifting stories of progress.  They try to "join the dots" between how people, communities and organisations are changing the world for the better.

Solutions Journalism explains how people try to solve shared problems. They don’t advocate specific responses but investigate,  what was done, what worked and why, and the limitations of each response. 

YES! Media is an independent and nonpartisan organization that looks at societal problems in terms of their root causes and explores opportunities for systemic, structural change.
